Research Agenda
My research agenda is founded in the broad field of technology leadership. Technology leaders are those educators who pursue the process of technology integration with the goal of transforming teaching, learning, and leading with technology. Technology leaders are teachers, administrators, technology coordinators, and university personnel who have dedicated their professional lives to helping others transform education with emerging technologies.

Technology leadership means working within a complex interaction of people and technology. Some of the topics germane to technology leadership include change, teaching and learning, staff development, leadership, planning, safety, security, infrastructure, ethics, curriculum, digital citizenship, brain research, technology support, 21st century skills, and equity.

This new century is bringing rapid changes to technology, society, and education. Our children will live in a complex world in which technology plays a major role. We must use all our resources to provide them with a holistic education that includes the capacity to adapt to change, the ability to think critically, the knowledge to live safely and productively, and the skills to use whatever technologies are available.

Currently, my research centers around brain research (educational neuroscience), emerging technologies, 21st century skills, the 21st century citizen, and what this new research means for education. In the past decade there have been many new findings with regards to how we understand the brain and learning. Our knowledge will be shaped even more as new technologies become available. There is also an incredible increase in the types and power of new technologies that will be used in all facets of our lives. Many of these technologies will be effective educatonal tools that our children can use for learning in new and exciting ways .

Scholarship Mission Statement
My scholarship mission is to use research, writings, presentations, and other scholarly activities to continually develop my knowledge, pedagogy, and professionalism.

Scholarship Philosophy
My philosophy of scholarship is deeply incorporated into my systems perspective of the synergy of purpose. Scholarship is the vehicle by which I continue to grow in my knowledge and understanding of the ever changing world of technology and education. This continuous growth provides me with new understandings which help me become a better teacher and professional. My scholarly activity directly affects my pedagogy in the classroom which in turn provides my students with the best possible instructional environment.
